(Cub Scouts - Gundagai)
Rain and drizzle was the dominant weather theme this morning. We
overnighted last night at Yass and had a relatively long journey to
Cootamundra. This is another beautiful town with big wide streets. The
towns in southern NSW are very picturesque. Cootamundra PS gave us a
great welcome. The school hall was the venue with over 150 students
from grade 2 to grade 6. They were an enthusiastic group answering
questions and wanting to ride the rickshaw after the presentation.
After the school we moved on to Gundagai. In the evening we showed the
dvd's to a small group of Cub Scouts. Their night was made exotic by a
rickshaw ride. We are spending the night on the banks of the
Murrumbidgee River. We are here when the river has a very good flow in
it reflecting the rain that has fallen in the country. There is a
bright prospect for farmers. The crops (canola and wheat) look great.
There is plenty of feed for the sheep and cattle. Prices for all
commodities are also very good. Have a look at the photos to see a
place where a rickshaw has not been before.
